Granite Belt Art & Craft Trail - by Bicycle

The following tours are available for you to experience the Granite Belt’s thriving art and craft scene this October for the inaugural “GBART Open Studios Event”. But don’t delay they’re only on once a day!

Jump on one or both of our fully guided bicycle tours and discover a variety of local artists, as they exhibit at studios and galleries as well as taking up residence in community spaces. These tours provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy the picturesque landscapes around Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt and you won’t need to worry about finding a parking spot !

TOUR 1: Saturday 19 October 2019 - 9:30am

Stops

Boomerang Bags - sewing, Rosy Chapman - watercolours, Alpaca Art Collective & Fibre Art Collective.

Itinerary

9:30am – Collection from Visitor Information Centre, Leslie Pde, Stanthorpe. Vehicle transport to the start at The Summit, unloading and setting up on bicycles.
Stop 1 - Boomerang Bags (sewing).
Stop 2 - Rosy Chapman (watercolours).
Stop 3 - Alpaca Arts Collective (fibre art).
Final stop - Fibre Art Collective @ Honeysuckle Cottages, Mayfair Lane, Stanthorpe.
Transport back to the Visitor Information Centre is included from the final stop to collect your vehicle.

Please wear clothing suitable for cycling - including enclosed shoes. Remember to apply sunscreen, bring a full water bottle and any snacks you may require.
Refreshments are available at some venues on route and are at your own expense. The profile below shows the gradual downhill gradient of this ride making it suitable for most recreational art-loving cyclists.

Stop 3 - Carramar Aged Care Villas - Artists collective.
Stop 4 - Owen Ronalds - Stained glass.

More important information:

  • Time spent at each venue will be determined on the day. There are no set times for arrival as this will depend on the cycling ability of the group.

  • Both tours require a minimum of 4 people before the tour is confirmed to go ahead. Once the minimum number has been reached we will then send out payment instructions by email. Payment options include bank transfer or card payment over the phone. No payments on the day.

  • Included in the tour price is a quality bicycle and helmet, vehicle transport (Saturday tour) and a knowledgeable, friendly guide so you don’t get lost !

  • Should you make any purchases of large items, our vehicle can collect these for you if you wish, alternatively if the item is fragile it might be best to collect it after the tour.

  • Please have the height of each rider and your email address ready when you call.
