A special tour for visitors and friends of Polocrosse World Cup 2019
Wednesday 17th April 2019
Cycle along quiet country roads as autumn leaves start to fall. The Stanthorpe region sits at around 800 meters above sea level and is stunning at this time of year. Your tour guide will point out the highlights of the area. Our first port of call is to a local cheese factory where you can sample artisan farmhouse cheeses. This is also a working dairy farm and is a ‘paddock to plate’ experience not to be missed. Morning tea is included here.
Moving on to work off morning tea and cheese our next stops are at award winning Granite Belt wineries. Here you can sample a variety of wines right from the cellar door. Experience the bright autumn colours as you walk around the vineyard - a great photo opportunity.
After passing apple orchards and other local producers we arrive in the quaint little township of Stanthorpe for lunch and a well-deserved drink in a majestic 100 year old pub.

The finer details…
Distance: approximately 28km
Terrain: mostly flat - no major climbing involved. Suitable for any reasonably active person who can ride a bicycle.
Time: pick up in Warwick from 8:30am. There will be two pick up locations on the day. We will post details here in due course. Return time will be late afternoon to the same two locations used for collection in the morning.
What do I need to bring? Suitable clothing to cycle in; enclosed shoes; an extra layer as it can be cooler in Stanthorpe; a lightweight rain jacket if you have one; camera; cards and/or cash for souvenirs, wine and cheese.
Places: Limited to a maximum of 10 places. Minimum 6 persons required before tour can go ahead. If this tour reaches maximum numbers we will take a wait list for the same tour on Thursday 18th April, 2019 which will require a minimum of 6 people.
