Castles, Cafe's and Cabernet

and for a short time ~ Christmas ~

This fully guided adventure starts at a 'castle' in Pozieres State Forest. Explore the eerie caves and take in the great view from the lookout before jumping on your bike and riding past apple orchards, dairy farms and vineyards.

You may encounter a local kangaroo or two on the quiet country roads. Stop and taste locally made produce including cheese and wine. This is a great trip for any reasonably active person capable of riding about 2 hours in total.

What you can expect

We collect you from a pre-arranged point and transport you to the ride start. Here you can explore the caves and climb to the top of the lookout before everyone gets set up on their bikes. From here it is a short ride out of the forest where we pass magnificent apple orchards before our first stop of the day at Stanthorpe Cheese. Here you can sample some local cheeses from the dairy shop.

From here we make our way on quiet  country roads back towards Stanthorpe. A gentle downhill gradient takes you easily back in to town. There are many options to stop at along the way from wineries and distilleries to cafes and orchards.

How do I carry my wine and purchases? A very good question. All purchases will be collected for you and delivered to your Stanthorpe accommodation (or original pick-up point) at the end of your ride.

A guided bicycle tour of the back roads of Stanthorpe, past orchards with regular stops for refreshments. The route is pretty flat and picturesque and there's no rush so you can take it all in. A half day tour on a bike might sound like a lot but we were having so much fun we hardly noticed how far we travelled! A must do!
